The ORCHESTRA Shaped Signature is Sonoro's first three-way speaker. Two 5.25-inch woofers hold the bass down to 35 Hz at -6 dB, a midrange driver of the same size handles voices and instruments, and an Air Motion Transformer covers the treble up to 24 kHz. A 4th-order Linkwitz-Riley crossover splits the bands at 300 Hz and 2700 Hz. With 88 dB sensitivity and a nominal 4 Ω, it pairs with amplifiers from 50 W.
The treble comes from an Air Motion Transformer with a neodymium drive. Its pleated diaphragm offers about 85 cm² of surface. The faceplate, redesigned for this model, widens dispersion, and the German magazine STEREO notes that this tweeter does not turn harsh, even at high volume.
The cabinet is made of HDF, a high-density fibreboard that resonates little, and its damping and internal compartments have been reworked. The front baffle leans back to time-align the output of the four drivers. Developed with Karl-Heinz Fink, the speaker gets a new crossover and optimised drivers compared with the GRAND ORCHESTRA it replaces.
The cabinet is sanded by hand, then given a matt lacquer in black or white, with the brand's rounded edges. The drivers sit flush with no visible screws, each framed by an aluminium ring, and the removable grille holds on invisible magnetic fixings. Sold individually, each speaker stands 104.1 cm tall with its feet and weighs 23.8 kg, feet and spikes included.
