The Gold 500 6G sits at the top of the Gold Series 6G. It measures 1155 x 383 x 475 mm and weighs 26.5 kg each. Three finishes are listed: High Gloss Black, Macassar and Satin White.
Two 8-inch HDT C-CAM woofers handle the low end up to 700 Hz. The 3-inch C-CAM midrange follows, then the MPD III tweeter from 2.6 kHz. Response extends to 60 kHz.
The HiVe II port is tuned to 33 Hz, the lowest figure in the range. In a room, response reaches down to 25 Hz at -6 dB, against 44 Hz free-field. Maximum peak SPL is 122 dB.
At 88.5 dB for 2.83 V at one metre, the Gold 500 6G is the most sensitive of the Gold floorstanders and stand-mounts. Nominal impedance is 4 ohms, and the minimum stays at 4 ohms at 150 Hz. Monitor Audio recommends 130 to 600 W.
