The Wharfedale DIAMOND 12.3i is a 2.5-way bass-reflex floorstanding speaker with two 5-inch drivers and a 25 mm fabric dome tweeter. It covers 45 Hz to 20 kHz (±3 dB) and is sold individually.
A 25 mm fabric dome tweeter tops two 5-inch (130 mm) drivers. The crossover point is 2.2 kHz. Response spans 45 Hz to 20 kHz (±3 dB), with bass extension to 40 Hz at -6 dB.
Klarity pairs polypropylene and mica for a stiff, light, well-damped cone. The low-damping surround lets the cone move freely, and the aluminium ring on the magnet compensates for changes in voice coil inductance. The coil rests on an epoxy and fibreglass former.
The circular port at the back tunes a 26.6 L cabinet. The port layout and internal damping were reworked across the series, using measurements in an anechoic chamber and in a room. Sensitivity is 89 dB (2.83 V, 1 m) and the recommended amplifier delivers 30 to 150 W.
The cabinet combines glued sandwich layers and modelled internal braces to limit wall resonance. The speaker reaches 975 mm with its feet, 180 mm wide, and weighs 19.5 kg. All-black, stone grey and classic walnut with a black baffle make up the range of finishes.
