Ribbon Tweeter with Horn

The Premium 801 debuts an SSD (Super Symmetric Drive) ribbon tweeter equipped with a horn—a first for PIEGA. The ribbon’s moving mass weighs just 0.03 grams, resulting in a very fast impulse response. The horn focuses the sound, lowers the cutoff frequency to around 2.7 kHz, and minimizes reflections.

Four 140-mm FSD-W woofers ensure level stability and bass control. A 140-mm FSD-M midrange driver completes this three-way system with linear and natural movement. The system extends down to 32 Hz.

The cabinet is extruded from an aluminum profile under more than 5,000 metric tons of pressure, a process rarely used in speaker construction. The result is an extremely rigid and very low-resonance structure. Its clean lines allow for placement close to walls without compromising sound quality.
