KEF R5 Meta, three-way bass-reflex floorstanding speaker with Uni-Q driver. The narrowest of the R floorstanders: 175 mm wide for bass that reaches down to 38 Hz.

The tweeter radiates as much backwards as forwards. Behind it, a metamaterial disc pierced with channels of differing lengths traps that rear wave and dissipates it as heat: 99% of the high-frequency energy never returns to the cone. What is left is the signal.
175 mm wide: the R5 Meta is the narrowest of the R Series floorstanding speakers. Two 130 mm cones are enough for the bass, stacked rather than spread out, and the front stays discreet against a wall. The bass still reaches down to 38 Hz at −6 dB.
The Uni-Q takes the treble and the midrange, the two 130 mm cones do the bass only. The crossovers sit at 400 Hz and 2.7 kHz. That division spares the midrange from sharing a cone with the bass, which is heard above all on voices.
1025 mm tall for 24.5 kg: the R5 Meta stands on the floor without extra spikes. It asks for 15 to 200 W at 4 Ω, 3.2 Ω minimum, and returns 87 dB for 110 dB of maximum output. Three finishes: gloss black, gloss white, walnut.
