The Gold C250 6G covers the centre channel of a Gold Series 6G home cinema system. Its horizontal cabinet is 537 mm wide, 205 mm high and 335 mm deep, for 15.3 kg. Dialogue and the dynamic passages of a soundtrack all go through it.
Two 152 mm HDT C-CAM woofers and a 76 mm midrange of the same family make up the bass and mid section. The midrange covers 800 Hz to 2.7 kHz. The MPD III tweeter then takes over up to 60 kHz.
The cabinet is sealed, with no port. Response reaches 64 Hz free-field and 54 Hz in a room, at -6 dB. In a home cinema system, a subwoofer fills in the lowest octaves.
Sensitivity is 87.5 dB for 2.83 V at one metre, and peak SPL 121 dB. Nominal impedance is 4 ohms, with a minimum of 3.9 ohms at 165 Hz. Monitor Audio recommends 130 to 500 W; continuous handling is 250 W.
