The Silver Centre 8G is a three-way centre speaker. Two 6-inch C-CAM RST III bass drivers work up to 620 Hz. A 3-inch C-CAM RST III driver takes over up to 3.0 kHz, followed by a 25 mm C-CAM Gold Dome tweeter.
The cabinet is sealed, with no port. That choice gives tight, controlled bass. In-room response starts at 66 Hz and rises to 35 kHz, at -6 dB.
Peak level reaches 120 dB, against 119 dB for the Silver 500 8G floorstander. Sensitivity is 89 dB for 2.83 V at one metre, nominal impedance 8 ohms with a minimum of 4.0 ohms around 160 Hz. Monitor Audio recommends 50 to 200 W into 8 ohms.
The speaker measures 205 x 511 x 272 mm (H x W x D) and weighs 11.7 kg. Through-bolt bracing stiffens the cabinet. It anchors a Silver home cinema system, in High Gloss Black, Satin White or European Walnut.
