Tube version of ISIS

Terry Bateman, Chief Engineer of Rega, spent ten years developing a CD player whose output stage is working with tubes. The digital and USB sections are those of ISIS with transistors; Only the analog floor changes. The device weighs 19.5 kg.

Triode 5814a military

Two triode 5814a of triple mica military specification, equivalent to ECC82 and 12AU7, carry output amplification. The filtering that accompanies them is passive: no active component is intercribed in the signal path. These are the tubes that give the valve isis its grain and your stamp density.

Double DAC Wolfson WM8741

Upstream of the tubes, two Wolfson WM8741 converters support decoding. Reading is 44.1 kHz with a laser wavelength of 780 nm. Smoothing capacitors Rega "K-Power" and a reference CNC remote control complete the set.

The chassis takes the dimensions of ISIS: 43.4 cm wide, 11.2 cm high, 35 cm deep, and 20 cm clearance to open the lid. The tubes carry consumption at 46 W, against 23 W for the transistors version. Lifetime warranty Rega against manufacturing defects.
