Dual Cirrus Logic DACs

The DM13 is a portable CD player built around two flagship Cirrus Logic CS43198 chips paired with two SGM8262 HiFi headphone amplifiers. This dual DAC and dual amplifier architecture makes full use of physical CD playback. Volume adjustment across 99 steps is handled by the DAC chip itself, for gentle changes and a clear sound at every level.

CD mechanism and anti-skip

The DM13 measures roughly 137.5 x 144.7 x 28.7 mm, a more compact format than most portable CD players. A lever opens the lid to load the disc, and the roomy cavity limits scratches while it spins. An ESP switch (electronic skip protection) steadies playback on the move as well as at rest.

LCD screen and CD ripping

A high-contrast 1.5-inch LCD screen shows the volume, the track number and the playing time clearly. The DM13 also rips its CDs to WAV onto a USB Type-C stick (FAT32) so the music can be played on other devices. Gapless playback, loop and favourites round out the experience.

aptX HD Bluetooth and outputs

The Bluetooth version rests on a Qualcomm platform and supports the SBC, aptX, aptX Low Latency and aptX HD codecs for transmission. On the wired side, the DM13 offers 3.5 mm and 4.4 mm balanced headphone outputs, line outputs, plus an optical and a coaxial output. D.MODE desktop mode powers the unit over USB without drawing on the battery.
