The Colour version gets a denser, heavier MDF plinth, hand-painted in a satin finish. The extra mass reduces resonances further and makes playback more stable and open. The five shades, black, white, steel blue, fir green and golden yellow, match the Colourful Audio range and the Speaker Box loudspeakers.
The turntable arrives with tracking force and anti-skating set by Pro-Ject technicians, so you only need to connect it. Its 8.6-inch aluminium-tube arm, with an effective length of 218.5 mm, sits on a zero-play gimbal bearing. The carbon-reinforced headshell limits vibration, and the large-diameter counterweight, placed close to the pivot, improves balance and groove tracking.
The E1.2 BT Colour has a built-in Bluetooth 5.4 transmitter that sends your vinyl wirelessly to a Bluetooth speaker, headphones or amplifier. It transmits in SBC, aptX HD and aptX Adaptive over the A2DP profile. Volume is set on the receiving device, as the turntable only transmits the signal.
The 730 g die-cast aluminium platter is reworked and balanced at the factory so that it spins evenly. A TPE ring damps its resonances, and it rests on a glass-fibre reinforced ABS sub-platter. The stainless steel axle and ball turn in a bronze bushing, and switching between 33 and 45 rpm is done electronically with a single button.
