The BT Box E HD receives music over Bluetooth 5.0 from a smartphone, tablet or computer and passes it to an existing hi-fi system. It supports the SBC, aptX and aptX HD codecs. The connection stays reliable up to 10 m in direct line of sight.
Pairing a device takes 3 to 5 seconds. The receiver remembers up to 8 Bluetooth sources, so every member of the family can stream their own content. The case comes in black or white.
On the back, a pair of RCA sockets sends a 2.0 Vrms analogue signal to the amplifier. An optical S/PDIF Toslink output passes the digital stream to a DAC or a suitably equipped amplifier, with a switch selecting the active output. The signal-to-noise ratio exceeds 93 dB on the line output and 120 dB on the digital output.
The BT Box E HD measures 12 cm wide, 3.2 cm high and 10 cm deep, and weighs 250 g. It runs on the supplied 18 V / 500 mA outboard power supply. To stream a turntable to this receiver, Pro-Ject offers the Phono Box E BT5.
