Tracking force and anti-skating are set at the factory, so the A1.2 is ready to play within seconds. Its built-in phono preamplifier lets you connect it straight to a line input, and it can be switched off if you use another preamp. The semi-balanced, low-capacitance Connect it E phono cable is included.
Pressing START brings the arm to the lead-in groove, and the turntable stops by itself at the end of the record. The fully mechanical automatic drive is handmade in Germany and assembled in the Czech Republic. During playback it is completely disengaged and does not affect the sound.
The die-cast aluminium platter is CNC-machined and precisely balanced. The belt drive system has been updated compared with the A1. Switching between 33 and 45 rpm is done electronically with a single button, without moving the belt.
The 8.3-inch ultra-light-mass aluminium arm is paired with the Ortofon OM10 cartridge, designed on the same principle. Together they deliver fast, detailed response on transients and microdynamics. The A1.2 comes in black and white, with a dust cover included.
