OVERVIEW
Try to remember the last time you have lived the omnipotence of thunder; Its natural presence without such a like, the experience of the low frequencies in a shock wave. With PLW215 II, we invite you to relive the intensity of mother nature in your listening room. The 38cm twin C-Cam speakers have triple suspension for a complete 4cm excursion and an individual amplification to DSP, to reproduce the lowest frequencies up to 16Hz. At this level, the bass are delivered with a powerful impact that you will feel from the head to the feet, extending the audio resolution of your speakers, including PL500 II, beyond the audible range, but with a physical dimension captivating the senses. In a word, it is the sound of nature to which we give back life.
That being said, all this explosive audio power is vain if it is not controlled. Thanks to our "subconnect" owner software, you can connect your computer to PLW215 II and adjust its response to your room. Within this calibration, the 24BITS DSP offers four customizable modes per entry, including pre-settings EQ Flat / Music / Movie / Impact. For finer calibration, you can adjust the frequency, slope and filtering EQ for each preset. A night mode is also available, to reduce the dynamics at the desired level during the animated passages. The PLW215 II is the most powerful bass box, the most sophisticated and the most natural designed by Monitor Audio, and completes the Platinum II range with impeccable precision.
TECHNOLOGY
Platinum II offers you real audiophile performances, with superb design and exceptional components. In our pursuit to even less distortion, no detail has been neglected. With meticulous FEA simulations, we optimized the electrical, mechanical, magnetic and acoustic operations, allow new discoveries at the service of our performance objectives. The Platinum II range thus deploys a new generation of medium and severe RDT speakers, and for the first time at Monitor Audio, a high frequency transducer MPD (micro pleated diaphragm). With a filter and improved terminal blocks associated with our proprietary Arc, TLE and Hiveii technologies, Platinum II takes advantage of the innovations rewarded of these last forty years to offer a high-end solution absolutely faithful to the source.
