A subwoofer for the wall

The Planar PL-1 mounts on the wall or sits close to it, and uses the wall behind it as part of the acoustic system. Coupling to the wall gives it full bass from a cabinet just 14.4 cm deep. Wall-mounting hardware is supplied, for stud walls or masonry.

Two 16.5 cm drivers

Two front-firing 16.5 cm active drivers, powered by a 300 W amplifier, deliver fast and precise bass. REL quotes extension down to 31 Hz. This format suits compact speakers and mid-sized floorstanders in apartments and medium rooms.

Wall-facing passive radiator

At the rear, a 25 cm passive radiator uses the drivers' back wave and couples directly with the wall. Next to it, the amplifier module groups the Speakon high-level input, .1/LFE and low-level RCA inputs, and the choice between auto standby and always on. The wireless receiver is built in, while the AirShip Direct transmitter is ordered separately.

Black or white lacquer

The PL-1 comes in black or white gloss lacquer and measures 52.2 cm wide and 49.2 cm high, for 18.9 kg. A cloth grille is supplied, while the wooden Premium Wood grille and the Planar Cart are available as options. It is sold individually.
