The T/9x is the most powerful model in Serie T/x, in a cabinet that remains compact: 37 cm wide, 34 cm high and 39.3 cm deep. A 10-inch long-throw active driver fires forwards and, with every stroke, drives a 10-inch passive radiator facing the floor. Attack comes from the first, while body and the ripple of bass through the floor come from the second.
A 300 W high-current Class A/B amplifier with large transformers drives both units. Its limiters were refined from the work carried out on Serie S, releasing about 60 W more on peaks than the previous model. REL quotes a conservative rating, with no inflated peak figure.
The T/9x comes in black, white and grey, at the same price. The light grey was developed after some fifty colour trials to suit current interiors, with the gunmetal grey feet and badge of the range. Each finish receives five coats of gloss lacquer.
The subwoofer is sold individually and can be doubled to form a stereo pair, each T/9x partnering one speaker. The Speakon High Level connection feeds it the same signal as the speakers, while the .1/LFE input receives home cinema effects at the same time. The Arrow wireless module, sold separately, allows cable-free placement; the T/9x weighs 20.6 kg.
