The T/7x sits between the T/5x and the T/9x in Serie T/x. An 8-inch active driver fires forwards and drives a 10-inch passive radiator facing the floor. The active driver brings speed and pitch accuracy, while the passive radiator adds weight and the lowest bass, carried through the floor.
The long-throw active driver uses a very light pressed-pulp cone, stiffened by a dust cap weighing just a few grams. Its suspension was fully revised for Serie T/x: a wider surround allows more excursion and a stiffer spider keeps the voice coil centred. The passive radiator was reworked in the same way.
A 200 W Class A/B amplifier drives the system, with a toroidal transformer and a generous power supply. Its three-stage limiters were tuned by ear by the REL team. The subwoofer connects to the speakers through the Speakon High Level connection and receives the home cinema .1/LFE signal at the same time.
The cabinet, 35.6 cm wide, 32 cm high and 36.3 cm deep, receives five coats of black or white lacquer. Its corners are rounded and it stands on machined aluminium feet engraved with the brand name. The T/7x weighs 17.5 kg, is sold individually and accepts the Arrow wireless module, offered separately.
